Im just wondering how many Escalade owners are from the D.C. area? If there are enough, we could get together sometime and help eachother out on modifications and such........ just an idea

i'm in south central pa....about an hour and a half to two hours from dc.

there's a state park just north of frederick that would be a really cool place to have a cadillac rally some time if anyone is interested.

Computer's over here too. Database and Web work. I guess escalades and computers go together pretty well. Speaking of that, I am thinking about putting a computer in my truck, throwing in a sprint PCMCIA wireless card and having internet all over the place.

i have an EXT, but i haven't picked it up from the dealer yet. i'm suppose to pick it up tonight. i bought it last thursday and the wait is killing me. but some shit's was going on with a contractor we had in and now the boss is pissed and we have to have a meeting tonight. so hopefully i'll be out of that in time to get my truck. otherwise i'll be pissed.

what mods do you have?

what kind of wheels and what kind and size tires do you have?

Fuquan

Niche Wheels and my tire size is 305 45 R22 305 40 R22 are supposed to be the same size as the regular wheels and tires but I perfer the more tire for the potholes. They rub alitte when I back up and turn the wheel all they way to the left and it just rubs on the molding not big deal

i wanted 45s for the same reason. i heard 285s might be better than 305s for things like fuel economy and alignment. if that's true, they're only 2 centimeters smaller, so you won't be able to tell by looking, so i might go with those. not sure yet. saw a cool set on gm parts direct i'm thinking about.

did you notice a fuel economy change with the new wheels??

Fuquan
05-25-04, 02:46 PM
Yeah I notice the fuel difference because I take them off in the winter time but I rather the 305 because I think it looks better with the wide tire and I have a escalade not a ext so it would look different since mine is much shorter

i like the wide tire too, but i think i could live with 2 less centimeters if it improved other things (like fuel economy and ride quality)

how great of a difference did you notice with the bigger wheels??

Fuquan

Not that much a difference a quarter more gas with the stock tires on. And your speedo becomes a little off like 65mph would become 57. something mph nothing to big

do you mean a quarter of a tank more with the stock?? if so, programers must make more than support guys :)

sorry for going off topic in the thread brett. this was a really good thread. i'd still like to hear about any other people in the washington/frederick/south central PA area.

...i haven't done anything to mine yet except tint the windows. near term i plan on getting the volant intake kit and chroming my tow hooks in front. i hope to have both done by the end of june (stupid work takes up all my time). i'd also like to find a nice chrome grill to throw on it. i like the e&g classic 3-D Z-Grille except for the center area where you mount the cadillac emblem. i wish they'd make one with straight bars where the emblem just sat on top. i'd like to get some 22's but i think that's gonna wait until after my stock tires wear thin.
