Could anyone specify the location of this? Service manual says front left frame rail. I see something that looks like a pump under where my air box used to be but Im not sure. Not sure if mine is working. Tried testing it by throwing about 300 lbs in trunk and turning the key to on position but it didnt activate. Otherwise the car seems level but Ive never once heard that pump activate. Just curious.
Find the plug wires on the driver's side where they go around to the Opti, there is a black thingy, that is it, if you have no mech fan, you can easily see if from the front, follow the black big hoses down to it. 4 bolts 10mm to remove IIRC. Little round black thing.... Nice of GM to make it electric eh?
95-96 was legal to disable in the software. There is a sticker available for it. It was causing moisture to get up into the air box and damage the MAF. Yup, disconnect and plug the air tube from the air pump to the air box for sure.
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I mean the air pump for the auto-leveling system. Not sure if mine is activating as I threw in a bunch of weight in trunk, turned the key on and nothing happened.
The switch is over axle in back and the pump is just in front of the left front tire and under the computer. Very hard to get to.
I think there is a 1 min delay to make it work, but you will hear it run. Mine just failed, had been working and suddenly stopped one day.
I have wagon springs in from 9c1Coprice, rides great and needs much less air in the shocks (I still use them, I have put a schreader valve on the line and just pump up as needed....)
