I just recently replaced an engine for a 98 cadillac sts and It is a northstar, and it was fine for about a month and then all of a sudden the fuse blew out for ignition 1. I took it to cadillac dealership in which they charged me $93 to determine the fuse blew for the ignition 1. I keep replacing it everytime I go through a rough road, and now its getting worse and worse in which before it was not blowing as often, not it is becoming consistent, maybe it has something to do with the harness wires or I dont really know, and I cannot afford to get a professional to trace back the wires or look into it, I have the mechanic that put the engine in and if i can steer him in the right direction that would be a big strees off my back. So if anyone can please help me I would greatly appreciate it, THANKS.:halo:

The rough road failures indicate that it's caused by a harness or connector problem. The mechanic who installed the engine needs to be fixing the problem because it's most likely his fault. He needs to be looking for a pinched wire, a frayed wire, or something laying on the exhaust somewhere. In a dark place, turn the ignition on but don't start the car. Wiggle harness wiring until you see sparks.
