my brake to shift feature does not work all the time, I know the bulb works because I saw it yesterday. I did not see it today, and I was able to shift out of park w/o applying any brake.

Which could it be, the solenoid, or the switch?

Also I hear a low whine/buzz/hum well its more like a buzz or hum when the car is in motion and I give it some throttle. As soon as I come off the accelerator, the noise goes away. Any ideas?

Climate control...tell me if this is the way it was designed. Whenever I hit the temperature up or down buttons, the system immeadiately comes on and I can hear and feel the blower working. If I'm not mistaken the system does not function this way in my Seville.

This is more of a general question, why is the OBD1 system so much different between the seville vs the FWB.

My brake to shift works perfectly ,I don't know why it's not working all the time
Yes,this is the way climate control designed .Being an auto leave it up to your most suitable temperature reading so that you don't have to deal w/ the button each time to set up an ambient temps
As for the OBD1 , Fleetwood and seville are totally different cars yet different characteristics and you know the engines are totally different

The older Broughams don't need to have the brake applied to shift. I guess its a new safety feature...probabloy to keep the car from shooting forward if you accidently hit the shift lever,.

@cadillacboy
yes but the OBD1 monitors the same systems in each car...right PCM, IPC, RSS, SIR, TCS. I know that the SLS and the FWB have different engines and are different cars. But what I was alluding to was the the way in which the OBD1 system works for both cars.

ex: when you enter dianogstics in the SLS...the system automatically cycles through each of the monitored systems, PCM, IPC, TCS, SIR, RSS etc and then prompts you if it is your desire to get into the parameters for each. Which I think is more friendly than the configuration for the FWB OBD system, where you have to choose which system, then push the button to cycle through etc...

but anyway that is a trival matter.
What do you think that noise could be.
