View Full Version : No Turn Signal, 99 Eldo

On my last trip I lost my turn signals. The fuse is OK, but I suspected that
because the emergency flashers worked and they are on the same fuse. I know the turn signal stalk is working as the side lights light up when the turn signal is engaged. My first guess would be that there is a ground for the signals that is not common to the other circuits. Being nearly 10 years and 115K miles old there might be corrosion to the ground. Without tearing all the panels out to look for it, does anyone know where this ground might be? Or if I'm on the wrong track let me know that too, thanks, Bob

A friend tells me that this could also be the signal stat which is probably taped together with the
similiar relay for the hazard four way flashers. I'm going to see if I can find this and check it too.
Thanks, Bob

I haven't found the flasher yet for my 99 Eldorado yet. Searched the archives here for a clue as to the location for this model, and found this is a very popular question, with a different answer for each model. Got three covers off and so far no flasher, the 4 way hazard flasher is right there, but no turn signal flasher. Went to Advance Auto and bought one of theirs, but don't see anything like this under the dash so far. It has a 2 wire mount just like the hazard flasher and is round, but is longer. Looked under dash (how deep do I have to go?), kick panel in front of door, and under the hood, but nothing is identifiable. Bob

its clipped onto the inside of the dash carrier
remove the lower black kick panel and trace the board
itll be mounted on the panel almost dead center under where the steering column goes through the dash

Ok, thanks. Time to get on my back again. I have that panel off already, so here I go.

Wow, am I glad that is done. It was above the opening and could barely be touched.
It's also a rectangular unit with three prong plug. Couldn't have done it without the
help of this forum. Thank you, all. Bob
