I can't believe I ended up buying a Cadillac! I test drove X5 3.0i, Q7 V6, FX35/45, SRX V6/V8, and Touareg V8 before deciding on my 2005 white diamond V8 AWD, Ultraview, Navi, DVD, and every other option included. This baby has only 15k miles and is practically brand new. It's getting CPOd and will be ready next week.

I was in the market for $25k preowned SUV. As an asian male (not even old at that and no kids), I never thought of buying a Cadillac. I only had German and Japanese cars. But when Cadi came up with that new crisp styling on their new cars, I noticed it. I always liked SRX's styling when I see one on the road, which is very rare.

I liked FX45 a lot but I could feel every bump and that won't help on long road trips I like to take. Then I drove SRX V8. I loved the Northstar and its unlimited power. Another deciding factor? The Ultraview. I use sunroofs often and the ultraview is amazing! I didn't love the interior but it was well laid out and pretty decent. No, I wasn't going to pay extra $10k for the nicer interior in 07s.

I looked everywhere for either black or white SRX V8 with low miles, craigslist, carmax, ebay, etc. The depreciation really hurts this car (which really benefited me). I finally found one at a local dealer and loved it. Over 60% depreciation for $61K MSRP w/ only 15k miles? Unbelievable. I know Cadillac lowered SRX price to be more reasonable but it's still a $50k+ car.

I understand some of you had some issues with the car but I hope my SRX will be fine for many years to come.

I will be smiling whenever I drive my new SRX b/c I know how much I paid for the performance I get. And it is unlike anything else on the road. I may be the only Asian SRX owner and those in BMW, Lexus, Acura, MB, Infiniti may not know why I am smiling.

Sorry this was so long but I am very excited about my new ride and wanted to share. i will keep you updated.

Welcome and congrats on the new ride. Leasing and CPO are the best ways to drive these vehicles. (Based on cost and warranty)

Congrats on the purchase. Are you sure that you are Asian? The glass in my Caddy is a little distorted. The passenger mirror is even labeled as not accurate. Be sure to check at home before taking delivery. Good luck.

Welcome and congrats.
Thanks for choosing GM.
Many happy years of smiling.
What color did you end up with?

Congrats on your purchase. I bought mine primarily because of the styling also. I have been back and forth from Illinois to California three times in the SRX, and am very pleased with its road manners and ability to handle bad weather (unfortunately, I have experienced more of that than I would like to have had). Just out of curiousity, what is the significance of being Asian? Do Asians typically buy foreigh nameplates?

Congrats. I own a black 2005 AWD V6 and love it. It's still a head-turner. oGood luck.

Congrats again! Hope you like yours as well as we like ours!!
We first drove a 2004 SRX N*V8 after trying MB, BMW, Lex, & others; V6 to V6 & V8 to V8; found the N*V8 our choice; ordered 2004 N*V8 RWD Blue Chip/ Ebony, UltraView, lumbar, no 3rd seat; canceled after waiting 4 mo w/o a delivery date. Went back to others, not satisfied; re-ordered 2005 SRX N*V8 RWD BC/E; took delivery late Jan 2005. Would do same again. We are still very pleased.
A friend recently - after some trips in our SRX - sold Lex 400h hybrid after multi probs & now happily drives a 2008 SRX!!

halleluja, the SRX is really nice in my opinion too. just do regular checkups and take good care of it and they car should be good for years to come. Cadillac makes cars for anyone who likes comfort, wether we're asian, white, black, latino or whatever. I take pride in my baby, 95 ETC, and I'm Bulgarian. There aren't many Bulgarians that drive Lac, most prefer the weak ass VW golf. lol

Thx for welcoming me. yes, asians typically carry louis vuittons and drives BMWs, MBs, etc.
My 05 CPO SRX is white diamond and i love the color on this car. I think black looks nice also but it's harder to take care of.
Anyway, i drove about 50 miles so far and averaging 17mpg. I guess that's about average for V8.

Things I didn't know SRX had b4 reading the manual which I really like:

Tilt down passenger sideview mirror in reverse
Timer for trips
Instaneous gas mileage
Customization for lock/unlock (lighting and/or sounds)
Voice commands for various functions
Stereo sound options (i.e. drivers/passengers, etc.)

I am sure I will find more things that I didn't know as I get to know the vehicle.

One minor issue which I have (and well documented here) is that the ultraview shudders when closing. I am sure little lubing will take care of it.

Some comments I received so far:

You bought what, Cadillac?
That's a station wagon!
Nice sound (engine)
It's roomy in the back
Nice leather!
Cool roof
Nice color

I can't wait 'til take this baby out this weekend and get more reactions.

you got my reaction "nice car, pearl white is the best color for that car too"
