Just bought the fwb like a week ago.. Interior lights did not work. Found out fuse had been taken out. Replaced it, and the light work but will not go out. Drove it to town everything was ok, except dome lights stay on, and when I started it to come back home the dash lights are all out. The climate control, the radio, and the digital dash are all out. If i turn the key to accessory the radio clock works.. Sometimes when I turn the key the sigital dash flickers and goes out. Any Idea?

Rechecked fuses, found the culprit, but still have issues with the interior lights.

The sensor in one of the doors must be bad, making it seem like one door is open all the time.

I have the same issue with my '95, fixed by pulling the fuse (now now interior lights except for dash, but at least they don't stick on), BUT it didn't do it until an accident repair. Had 2 new doors on the passenger's side, both from a '96 car, and one used the latch/handle/lock that came with it and the other was broken, so they used the one that was on my existing door. After all was on and plugged in, the interior lights refused to go out.

After reading thread upon thread, seems like it could be a variety of things, a big one--at least in my case--being the little roller switches on the door latches that are used to turn the lights on & off (rather than a little plunger in the door surround, as most older vehicles). These apparently get sticky, etc. with age, and as I had 2 used '96 doors put on, everything looked fine and plugged in...but then this light issue.

Some have also traced it to a trunk latch issue, oddly enough, which has to do with wiring getting damaged and then keeps the interior lights on.

Mine's been like this since getting it back at Christmas--just with the fuse pulled--and I still haven't had the time to take the door panels off that side and investigate further.

I had some threads and other postings bookmarked, and will try to dig them up...
