Took the air box out of my 96 Fleetwood and installed a CAI. What Im wondering is what is that other hose attached to the air box and what should I do with it? Looks like it goes to air pump of some sort but I dont see anyplace to re-hook on new air intake. Im assuming its emission related.
You can get a small filter for it, like a breather filter. I leave mine open, it rarely runs anyway. WOT and cold only. And 95-96 were blessed by EPA to disable, but you need to have the PCM flashed to do it. Dealer should do it, not sure if free. GM recertified the 95-96 cars without so they didn't have to recall them. The check valves were bad and they would put moisture into the air box and ultimately the MAF would be damaged. So I recommend disabling. Stealership will do for sure, they even have stickers. Heck, yours could be already. Then you could just remove it all and make it look cleaner/better.
Yeah, I put a breather filter on mine today. I did notice that it sucks air when car is first started but not when warm as well. Think I will check with dealer about disabling it. Just flashed my PCM to and forgot to put that in darn it.
