I purchased a used 2004 - Cadillac SRX 2/07 with 31902 miles on it.

Recently I noticed the odometer/speedometer was going unusually fast. Of course, I notice the speedometer 1st.

I had On-Star History up until January, 08 showing that I put an average of 7-10 miles per day on the car. I have not upgraded my On-Star to digital yet, so On-Star isn't working now.

On 6/13/07, I put front tires on the car and have a receipt showing the mileage was 33804.

On 3/19/08, I had a safety inspection done and have a receipt showing the mileage was 36783.

The odometer today (3/28/08) reading is 60,162.

Car scheduled for servicing on 4/7. I'm obviously truly very concerned, worried and confused.

What do you think is causing this problem?
What suggestions may you have to solve this problem?

Thanks!
Dana

I think you have changed the speedometer to read kilometers rather mph. Miles are about 60% of kilometers. 60,162 x .60 = 36,097. See page 3-64 in the owner's manual under the DIC instructions to change the metric/english settings.

Welcome to the club.
I think Mort is on to something!
Lets hope so.
Other than that, how do you like it?

Omg Mort...you are a genius!:worship: I just can't believe how worried I was. Oh and of course, it all makes sense. My A/C was at 24 degrees? lol. So problem solved.

As we say here in the island Mahalo (Thank you).

Btw, I adore my SRX. I moved up from a Subaru Forestor which I also enjoyed. I have my SRX in light green color. Very pretty. There are not many on the road here. It's fast! Not huge. But big enough to fit into our very small garages over here on the island. I will enjoy my SRX for years to come.

Aloha,
Dana

Definitely beats the Suzuki Samurai 4x4 we rented when driving the Hana Highway while on vacation over there.
