Just got my 2008 STS w/Navigation last week. Is there a on-line tutorial I can go to or is there something on the DVD I can watch to learn how to use it?http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif

But I suppose you could 'Google' it. GarryW 03-28-08, 11:57 AM The manual seems to be all that's available. With GM adding this feature to other vehicles as well, it would seem that an on-line tutorial would be a good thing. A Google search turned up nothing.http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif AllWheelEric 03-28-08, 03:18 PM I created a one-page cheat sheet for my wife. I have attempted to attach it here. It's also worth spending some time with the manual. It's a shame the nav system isn't easier to use, but it does have a lot of cool features. For example, when on a highway with guidance on, I like looking at the next few exits to see how convenient the gas or food is. That process is convoluted but now that I know how to do it, I use it a lot. chagrin falls 03-28-08, 05:05 PM Garry-When I took delivery of my 06 there was a "Personalization Instructional CD Navigation System" included with the owners portfolio. It includes "general navigation useage and personalization of all features" through the navigation system. The part number for the DC might be 10377527 manufactured by Sony for Enso-Hope this might help. GarryW 03-28-08, 05:28 PM Hi Eric: I like the cheat sheet idea too, so I printed it and will pass it down to her after it becomes second nature to me! Force-1 03-28-08, 10:31 PM It's a shame I could use my Garmin Nuvi 660 out of the box without reading the manual, yet I spent an hour or 2 reading the STS manual. :bulging: tomm 03-28-08, 10:48 PM It's a shame I could use my Garmin Nuvi 660 out of the box without reading the manual, yet I spent an hour or 2 reading the STS manual. :bulging: Dont know.. I bought my STS and was in a hurry... Grapped my new keys and nav dvd and said see ya.. Started the car inserted the DVD, adjusted my seats and moirrors and was on my way in less than 5 minutes with my home destination set in the nav which I never used before. 05STSWOW 03-31-08, 06:08 PM As my wife would say... "you're so smart... now shut up!" lreddiablo 03-31-08, 08:19 PM I have a small quick referance manual that came with the regular car manual that is informative. It is the '05 manual and mentions that you can remotely close the windows which I believe wasn't available till '06. I'm trying to convince the dealer to see if he can add it since my manual says I should have it. austin 03-31-08, 10:17 PM I created a one-page cheat sheet for my wife. I have attempted to attach it here. Good job on the cheat sheet, very helpfull! Would anyone also happen to know how to change the current stored Home Address to another. Mine came with the previous owners address stored as Home, and i can't figure out how to change it to my own Home address. AllWheelEric 03-31-08, 11:56 PM I'm glad the cheat-sheet is at least a little helpful. Should we create a separate thread for people to post useful tips? It could be a sort of a nav owner's tip-of-the-day. I only have a couple tips, but if everyone posts one or two, it could become a good resource. I'm sure I know how to set the home address, but I can't remember without fiddling with the car for a few minutes. AllWheelEric 04-01-08, 12:05 AM Just pasting from the manual: To delete your home point, do the following: 1. From a map screen, touch the Menu screen button. The NAV. MENU will be displayed. 2. Choose Memory Points. 3. Choose Home. 4. Choose Delete or Edit | |
