Hi,

I'm stuck with the Escalade wind noise problem. Cadillac basically blew me off saying they were working on a fix and maybe they would fix it.

So I filed a complaint with the BBB. I sent in all the required paperwork and am returning a call from the BBB today.

I love my Escalade but the wind noise makes me crazy on long trips - even with the radio on loud.

Has anyone worked with the BBB in this situation and if so, what kind of process did you go through and what was the outcome?

I'm really ticked at how GM is handling this. My dealer and service operation are good guys and have tried all they can to fix the problem but I think it is a GM design flaw that they can't really fix.

Anyway, anything you can share about a BBB encounter?

In December of 2007 I went before the BBB in Stockton, Ca. regarding continued wind noise issues with my 2007 Cadillac Escalade. I was told a GM representative would be present and a BBB arbitrator. Upon arrival there was no GM representative and a interview of my vehicles issues were discussed via a phone conference. I presented my documentation along with 7 sevice visits regarding wind noise issues in 8 month. I noted each time service corrected or conducted service bulletin recalls but still no fix as well as forum information from this site. A test drive of the vehicle was done on the freeway at speeds not exceeding 55 mph and no comments by me were allowed. After completing the interview I was escorted out the room and left feeling that I had a great shot of winning my case. I heard from the BBB a month later and the BBB advised me that I had lost my case.
So be it.. I continue to take this vehicle in for service regarding broken parts, interior squeaks and normal problems with cheap quality. I am purchasing a 2008 Mercedes GL550 and glad to take a $20,000.00 hit in 1 year to get rid of this overpriced piece of shit.

They are far, far, far from "all bad" and make some of the best vehicles on the road today. However, you sadly were subject to one with a common issue and also sometimes occasional quality that isn't, maybe, truly at the $55k+ range.

Overall, still a fantastic vehicle, and most who buy them have no issues and all love. Same with anything, such as your new MB.

Now...back to the BBB talk on the wind noise...
