GMJim 03-27-08, 08:22 AM Absolutely In2 Cars 03-27-08, 12:20 PM David1 I bought a new SRX and installed the OEM flaps the day I bought it. I think they work great and I have been very happy with the results. I bought have a property recently that has a 1/2 mile long gravel drive that gets a little muddy when It runs thin on gravel. I primarily put them on to keep the rocks from flying up but it does a great job on keeping the mud off too. I am a fanatic at keeping my cars clean and chip free and the flaps have made my job much easier (not so many washes). I will defiantly put OEM flaps on anything else I buy. conedoctor 03-27-08, 12:31 PM I want a set of these but they are like $65 in the US and $125 in Canada, good thing for ebay. GMJim 03-27-08, 01:00 PM Fronts go on very easy. Rears are a pain. The bottom push pin won't grip all the layers of material. I ended up putting a nut & bolt in. You may have to trim them to clear the muffler as well. I know i had to trim them on my 04 & 06. david1 03-27-08, 01:11 PM Thanks great info. bond2 03-27-08, 01:33 PM I installed them on my 07 which has the sports package and they fit fine for the most part. I added an extra screw on the rears to make up for the fact that the plastic pin won't fit through all the layers as mentioned above. The vehicle stays much cleaner in my opinion. I didn't remove my wheels and didn't have much issue getting them on. The Wrench 03-28-08, 12:15 PM I put them on my '08. the rear push pins went right in and held fine -Hmmmm. Had to trim a bit to clear the mufflers. The fronts went on okay, but didn't fit flush on the top outside edge. A little trim screw and a drill on the top front edge fixed that. DG bond2 03-28-08, 02:50 PM You're right about the fronts not fitting flush. Mine stuck out a bit, and was pretty noticeable when standing on the side of the vehicle looking forward. All I did was squeeze the plastic together a few times with some elbow grease, reinstalled the mud flap and then the plastic was flush against the body of the car. Three weeks later it is still flush! No extra screws or drilling required for me. MortnCyn 03-28-08, 05:30 PM Generally not crazy about the looks of some flaps. Anyone have pictures to post? GMJim 03-29-08, 01:58 PM Ok Mort. Lemme have it! :hide: MortnCyn 04-01-08, 09:46 AM What mud flaps? I have always liked the invisible ones best. They have sure kept your white ride clean. Were the pictures good? :umno: GMJim 04-01-08, 12:00 PM You just asked for pics, not good pics. haha Guess I should have painted my tires white.............. rackey 04-01-08, 11:26 PM GMJim, Those are GREAT pics. I love my mudflaps, granted they "blend " a little more in color with the Moonstone, but great in look and function. ccaats 04-01-08, 11:32 PM I installed them on my 07 which has the sports package and they fit fine for the most part. Thx, chris Mardela 04-07-08, 10:59 PM I just installed on a white 04. Install was a breeze. I do think they are a little "cheap" looking. I also don't like the "pocket" on the front. I'd rather have a solid hard rubber flap. But all in all, better than none at all. They really help with protecting the side of your vehicle. bond2 04-08-08, 02:06 PM I'll post some pics with it installed on my black '07 Sport later this afternoon. bond2 04-09-08, 12:13 AM Here are some pics, hopefully their big enough to get an idea of how they look. With a black car it was a no brainer, they blend in nicely and protect the vehicle from stone chips and the occasional puddle splash. rackey 04-09-08, 08:23 PM They are attractive and blend in very well with the moonstone color. I think they work very well. | |
