I bought a 92 Sedan Deville a couple of years ago and now the paint is starting to flake off.
The paint looked good when I got it and the interior had no signs of wear
and has only 1 bad spot in it. No fadeing.
Was the paint for that year a problem? I have seen a few with paint flakeing off.
Mine is white.

Sounds like a repaint. My paint seems tough as nails. It was garaged first 8 years, then outside under trees for 6 or 7 years. It's far from perfect but looks fine from 15 feet away; it's black.

Late 80's GM had problems with the paint coming off - there was a even a recall. Not sure if the problems persisted through 92 but there is not much that can be done except a repaint.

Is it paint coming off or clear coat. That has been my experience. K_C

Yeah, the paint is usually good, its the clear coat that comes off. Looks horrible when it does, but that's the way stuff happens. Hey, its better than the early 80's cars where they never had a clear coat to begin with and rusted within a few years.
