I have replaced the alternator and just keep blowing the fuse that handles the ac, suspension and a bunch of other electrical stuff. When the fuse goes, the digital dash lights go out and eventually the battery runs down because the alternator is not fully charging the battery. When the 25 amp fuse is good the alternator is putting out 14 V, when the fuse goes it only puts out about 10.5 V and consequently the battery goes dead and everything stops.

When the alternator was replaced the service station put in a battery but not a very big one, 665 CA at 32 deg and 540CCA at zero. I'm guessing it's not the battery but that is the only thing that has changed other than the alternator. I have also noticed that the self leveling suspension does not seem to be making any adjustments, could the compressor be shot. Pretty sketchy information to go on but I suppose the next step is to go to the dealer.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Check the grounds on the alternator. On my 1990 there were two that attached to what would be the pivot bolt/shaft. If they left one off and it has marginal contact that could be a possible cause. Also pull codes: press and hold 'Off' and 'Warmer' on the climate control display with the key 'On' - doesn't matter if the engine is runnign or not.

My '88 DeVille had similar symptoms last spring. My analog dash, the fuel, climate and radio would go out. My mechanic kept replacing the fuse and didn't know what was causing it as it happened a few times. Then one day if I hit the brakes or turned on the wipers the car would shut off. It started with a jump then soon it wouldn't start at all and I was told by 3 different techs that my engine was seized.

I had it towed to an auto electric specialist and needed a new compressor as it's dying was causing the fuse(s) to go out and/or whatever, I'm not mechanical, I'm just telling you my story hoping you'll recognize something helpful. I needed a new battery too which they failed to replace when they did the compressor which went bad in two days. This place was out in the country 45 miles from Pittsburgh. Lucky for me they sent their tow truck and made it all good at no charge except for the new battery.

I hope this isn't going to be your problem and it's something like Chubby said.
