Is there any other possible way to turn off the headlights in a 02 Escalade without the parking break engaged?

As of yet, we've been unable to solve the same problem, but we may put a switch between the fuse contacts of the DRL/FOG light fuse. :hmm:

On the 2002, press the dome override button 4 times within 6 seconds and the DRLs will go off. You'll hear a chime if you did it right.

This sucks not being able to turn off the headlights...What was GM thinking?

Let me clear myself up a bit, not only does using the dome override turn off the DRLs, its also turns off the auto-headlights, allowing you to turn them on and off with the switch.

my dad had a caddy from the early 90s that had four options, off, automatic, parking, and on. that's how i think all cars should be now. if you want to turn them off, you can, and if you want to use the automatic turn-on, you can.

I have tried pushing the dome overide botton in 6 times really fast and it doesnt work..??

I have an after market headunit...Could this feature have been disabled when the new deck was installed...??
