In reference to the 75 audio quesiton, does anyone have any suggestions on repairing the antenna on a 75 deville? I took the motor apart to clean it and then took the mast and nylon cable out to clean and lube it. I was going to check it before i stuck it back in the car, but it won't do anything now. Where as before it was operational, just not going all the way up or down. What did i do to mess it up?
Sounds like the cable may be in a bind. Is the motor running at all? You may have to take it apart and reassemble it and then check it a few times before re-installing.
Have you checked to see if your'e getting power at the connection harness? I'd check the fuse too, although if it was fine before it should still be ok. If you have to open it back up, check the armature brushes and wiring.
Three days ago, the antenna on my 1995 FWB decided to be snotty also.
When I pulled into the driveway and stopped, turned off the ignition, got out of the car and walked around it, I saw that the antenna was only half way down.
Fiddling with it reveals that it can be pulled up but not pushed down.
So I tried the search block at the top of this site.
There are lines of stuff that will keep you tied up for a long time, but the following might be handy. I cut and pasted this:

Re: Rebuilding power antenna
Did mine last night with no FSV- not a problem.
Remove the antenna from the car-loosen black escutcheon on antenna base and two bolts 10mm on interior brace, 10mm ground bolt and disconnect electrical plug. antenna will pull down out of rubber grommet in fender.
Take to bench and remove little half moon black plastic piece on bottom of housing retaind by torx screws. Inside you will see the gear wheel and a short piece of stainless steel tube which used to attach to your antenna cable. with a small screwdriver pry ss tube up and out of housing. secure in vice and use a small drill bit to drill out piece of plastic antenna left inside tube, drill on both ends until you can push plastic piece all the way out.
Then reinsert the remaining plastic antenna cable into tube, crimp it to secure. hook end of ss tube back into opening on wheel and fold down into housing. reinstall, clean and lubricate the antenna mast and watch antenna rise and fall while enjoying adult beverage of your choice!
Cost of repair $00.00 and 45 minutes.
