Has anyone ever used Turnswitch.com to have an old radio/stereo restored or converted? I got some information from them about restoring my 75
8-track and converting it to modern eletronics to include a jack for an MP3/IPOD and/or a CD player. This sounds awesome. Hoever, it is fairly expensive and i was wondering if anyone had done this to theirs and if so how did it turn out. I really want to keep the original stereo, and besides i hardly ever listen to anything other than the local radio station. But when traveling it would be nice to bring along some CDs or maybe an IPOD.

There is nothing better than driving down the highway listening to some Charlie Rich "Behind Closed Doors"...mmmmm.

How about an FM modulated CD changer? Cheap, sound good...

Wal Mart, Best Buy, Crutchfield, ebay, etc...

For example, here is a 12 disc changer (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=5981869&st=cd+changer&type=product&id=1061127809153)

The audio quality on these is much better than the ipod type FM modulators that are not connected to your radio. For an FM modulated CD changer, you unplug the factory antenna from the radio and plug it into the modulator. Then, you plug the modulator into the radio. When you turn the changer on by the remote, it cuts the FM signal and sends the CD signal to a specific station on your radio. They work great. I've had one in my 71 Pontiac for over 15 years.
