Ok the latest 91 i got for parts, when i got it a few weeks ago both opera lights were BEAMING! 100% working. I was peeing all over the place cause i could sell a nice pair :stirpot:

I went to take pics tonight, and only one was lit.

This then brings me to the 88. I tested those and my dad said he saw atleast the passenger side light up and later that day when it was dark nether lit.

Could the "inverter" that i hear about though have never seen myself have something to do with this, maby if the battery in the car is dead?

Im pissed now. I know both worked in the 91, and the car hasnt been toched since.

:crybaby:

While im on the subject of opera lights. the good ol 81, has the same stlye lights, the filiment type, not the bulb type of the older ones. Anyone got working ones on their older brougham coupe? I bought a set from a 70's caddy, same lights cosmetically, but they are bulb style. And dont fit flush like the 81's do. I need to do some modifications to make them work. But will a bulb style run of the wires and leads originally made to power the other style? Is there a different amount of power going threw the wires i guess you could say im asking.

I think the EL strip style runs off of high voltage AC, not your regular 12v DC stuff. Hence the inverter... but I'm not sure on the details.
