Full size spare in my '89. I'm glad to be rid of that ****in' donut....

On a completely unrelated note, most members on here are aware of my fascination with the cross of lorraine which I use all over the place. (‡) Well look what I found by the catalyst sticker under my Fleetwood Brougham's hood.....

Scary, I can't believe I never noticed it before.....

Awesome! Now if you get a flat, nobody will know! And you won't be pressured to re-change the wheel back to the first one.

The fact that the spare is one of my old front tires, there's like 5/32 left on it would prompt me to fix the good one. Haha.

Hm, yeah nevermind then. At least your car will still look like there's nothing wrong to the naked eye :)

Nice. Looks right at home. Very clean trunk too!

I did this as soon as I could with my '87. Was at a loss as to what to do with the donut spare. Then I moved to a condo with narrow garage spaces. I put the donut against the (concrete) wall. Now it acts as a protection device. When I back park the car, I just back into the donut. Easier to get out of the spot, and safe to back in! I knew it had to have some use.

Cool upgrade. I did the same thing to my '83 back when I still had it. The wire wheel cover that was in it I bought off eBay, took completely apart and cleaned. It definitely had more 'wow' factor when I showed people the trunk than the donut did.

Both of my '79s came with fullsize spares, and the '89 has the original donut, but Rick included a fullsize spare that I'll probably clean up, throw a wheelcover on and stick in the trunk. And my '90 has a donut.. but I just don't care. I think the '90 style trunk with the carpeted mat & sidewalls looks fine with the donut under the matching cover.

My 71 has the original full size spare still. Kinda funny.
