Anybody ever install one of these OEM factory upgrade chrome fuel doors on their Escalade?

How do you go about getting the old one off? It looks as though there are some rivets the hold it on - do you have to drill those out and then attach the new one with screws?

Any help or tips would be appreciated. Thanks

I replaced mine with a fuel door that locks.
2 rivets must be drilled out.
foam tape holds the door on to q.p.
Take you about 20 min. to remove & replace.
I got mine fuel door from stylintrucks.com
I forgot to say put masking tape on the edge of the fuel door.So you scratch the paint when you take off.

Did you do anything to mitigate against explosion from potential sparks caused by the drilling so close to a fuel-vapor source ?

gs430 said "drilled out" nothing about using a grinder to grind out the rivets. I think you are safe with using a drill bit and drill. Last time I checked when I drilled out some rivets were some metal filings, no spark show....

I purchased one but did not install it, just didn't look right on my truck when I held it up, sold it on E-Bay
