As many of you know dealing with car dealers can really be a pain in the tail. I am happy to report my first Cadillac buying experience has been one the best experiences I have had in over 40 years of buying cars. Our small town has a larger then usual GM dealership. Over the years I have heard a few negative things about the dealer so I approached them cautiously. A close friend told me not to worry because they treated him great. I also visited another close by dealership just to have a comparison.
First, they gave me a good deal right from the start. After, checking the numbers with various sources including this forum, my numbers were better then most. ( In some cases alot better ) I really didn't find it necessary to haggle. Anyway, during the buying process I mentioned I wan't sure about how I would ever keep the Cashmere interior clean, the sales manager said, " how about we include a free scotch guard treatment for the interior". After I closed my deal I called the service manager about adding the molded splash guards. OK, no problem, when I picked up the car I found there was no charge. First oil change, no charge. I stopped by the local pub after work the other night for a couple cool ones. The sales manager came in with a couple of his salesman, they told the bar tender to put my tab on there account.
Through the whole process they were courteous, polite, and respectful. I really dislike squabbling over $100 on a $40000 deal. They never put me in a situation that I felt I had to haggle. I really liked that. So far my CTS has just been fantastic. It is probably the best car I have ever owned and It was also one of the best buying experiences. (Sorry this is so long)...CJ from Ohio

Lucky you. I just picked my CTS up last Saturday. The dealer tried to pull a fast one one me by increasing the lease CAP cost by $1,500 over what we agreed to over e-mail. Good thing I took copies of the e-mail with me when I went to pickup the car. Even so the Finance and Sales manager copped an attitude with me when they realized I had them and they had to give me the car for invoice which they had agreed to. After waiting seven weeks for the car what should have been a great experience had me fuming mad on my way out of the dealership. I called the owner of the dealership and gave him hell. He apologized but didn't offer to do anything to get me back to his dealership. When are these guys going to learn that buyers are knowledgeable and educated about the car buying process and they can't pull a fast one on everyone anymore. My first GM car in 30 years. I will not be returning to that dealership again.

Being new to the forum I wasn't sure if it was OK to mention there name. They are Stadium GM in Salem, Ohio. Although my experience was good, my advice would be to approach any car dealer with caution. Remember they negociate car deals every day, while we the public do it once every three years. Normally, the only time a person "wins" is when the dealer let's them win for some reason.

Always good to hear happy customers.
Thanks for posting your story, sounds like they really took care of you.
Sadly the ratio of good stories to bad is pretty weak.
Hopefully we'll hear more good ones? :D
