From Vegas to Palm Springs via I-15, I-215, & I-10 netted my with 23 mpg with speeds from 85 to 95 mph, it was mostly bees and gnats.

On the way home I decided to take the scenic route via Twentynine Palms, Amboy, and Mojave National Preserve. The car did some 40mph and lots of 75 to 100+++ mph, this time it killed some butterflies. They came out of nowhere! I swear! The car did the trip home in 3.5 hours and 21.9 mpg. Not bad for a 400hp car with 4 passengers, luggage, & 3.73:1 arse.

The car seems to hate 75 mph, it is just above 2000 rpm and has slight vibration due to the busted liquid engine mount (liquid escaped). But it smooths out at 2400 and loves to hit 3000 without too much throttle which is OMG! over 100!!! Disengage! Disengage! Disengage!

Looks like a normal day's commute in Florida (aka "Bug & Critter Central").

Butterflies ain't too bad. On a roadtrip to New Orleans last year I ran into swarm after swarm of dragonflies. These suckers were so thick in Louisiana most folks were running fog lights in daytime. Dragonflies are so big they crunch, splatter and smear. I thought my V-Grill was going to disintegrate or at best be dented all to hell, but it survived unscathed. Keep in mind you need to wash them off as soon as possible (most big bugs are acidic).

This reminds me of my youth in Saskatchewan, next province to East. People used to discuss best ways to remove grasshoppers from grills. Some people used to have big screens across the front of their cars. ie 1950's cars. My dad had the perfect solution to remove the grasshoppers...me. "Bruce, go wash my car".

Starting to understand why my car (preowned in Florida) has pitting all over the front facia. Too much of that and you will need a good wetsand. You should sell those pics to a clear bra company for advertising.

In the summertime we get these tiny little gnats near the water called "Blind Mosquitoes"- there's so many of them hitting your windshield when driving over a bridge that it sounds like it's raining.

I fully expected to see the Easter Bunny on the front of your car!
