Hoping somebody can shed some light on my non working brake light. It started off slowly, some days it would be working and others days it wouldn't work at all, and now it doesn't work at all. When I hit my brakes my right brake light either lights up very dimly or not at all and when I use my right blinker I get the hyper blink, which by the way may work on a Honda or an Acura but not on a Caddy. What i've noticed is that it's only the top bulb. I replaced the harness and all new bulbs and have even went as far as pulling my trunk apart to follow the harness which appears to go to the fuse box in the trunk. I've pulled all the fuses out that would have anything to do with lighting and found all to be functioning properly with no issues to the wire harness itself. I would be so grateful for anyone's knowledge or assistance with this issue. Thanks!!!!

Did you check the grounds and for other shortages? Thats my guess, its shorting somewhere.

I think there's a body ground which runs in the wiring harness inside the trunk hinge channel. Check the wiring for kinks or breaks where it comes out of the hinge channel and also at the screw/bolt for the ground connection.

No brake lights, dim brake, goofy turn signals on a GM product.

Bad steering column turn signal switch.

You can plug a new switch into the bottom of the column switch harness to test before tearing the column apart.

Another test is to wiggle the turn signal stalk around while pressing the brakes. If the brakes start working it's the turn signal switch.
