I was wondering...a buddy of mine said he will help with the install, however hes 2 hours away from where I planned getting my connecion pipes welded in and then connected to my exhaust, so I ask, Can I drive OPEN HEADER for 2 hours on the highway, or is this asking for serious engine issues due to the NO backpressure.

Valves cooling down too quickly when you stop and warping is the biggest risk, so I've heard.
Man, that's gonna be WAY LOUD!
Don't do it. I drove open headers for 2 miles and I thought my interior was going to shake apart!!

I just caught a load of crap over on LS1 tech for suggesting that a guy had warped or burnt up his head(s) for doing the very same thing.
If you can drive it for 2 hours without getting stopped your very lucky.
I wouldn't do it.
I have seen the result of an open header and just a major leak can really screw things up.
For one, the cat (if installed) will probably result in being burnt to nothing.
The head, COULD WARP because of the major heat buildup.
Aluminum doesn't like it.
Iron head, maybe.

There would be way less heat in a open header setup than a catback.

yeah, I'm pretty sure. I was in the same situation that you're in. The catback is just hanging.

Or any modified car that takes the track? Your V will be as loud or louder. Just putting on my catback, I broke a stud on the connector pipe. I drove with just the stock headers for 1 mile to a local shop. And I could be heard a mile away. Pretty cool for a SHORT time...

NOWAY! i don't think it will heart anything but man you might get major headache. I have race car and i would never drive that thing on street with open headers.
