80% 90% ????? rand49er 03-21-08, 05:42 PM I have an admission: I put 'em in in October '06 and have never dumped the clutch since that. (Heck, only did two little times even before that; I just don't abuse the car.)
I can tell you one thing, though, when my tires are losing grip while accelerating (gotta love maggie :cloud9:), there is NO hopping going on at all. I've read a little bit from that $17-wheelhop-solution thread, and the concept is similar, I believe. The Specter Werks bushings just does it better. And, unlike a KARS or BMR setup, they're completely unobtrusive ... basically invisible.
If you do your own install, besides the requisite jack stands and good hydraulic jack, I'd recommend getting a lo-o-ong piece of pipe or something to effectively extend the length of your breaking bar or rachet. Those bolts on the cradle are set to mega foot pounds torque!
To hazzard a guess at a percentage? Somewhere in the 25-75% reduction range ... maybe!?! rangerrob 03-21-08, 06:29 PM also very interested. if anyone currently is running the specter setup and tried others, please let me know how you think it stacks up to the BMR and KARS. thanks! SuperV_Rob 03-22-08, 06:43 PM I would love to hear from the current Specter Werkes customers about their experience as well. If it is all good news, you can count me in for a set.
Thanks,

I am not talking about noise, just wheel hop reduction. joe-black 03-24-08, 02:35 AM I noticed this evening when I let out the clutch I hear a slight creaking in the rear end (bushings)? Are these going to fix that issue? rand49er 03-24-08, 07:07 AM How much better then the GM bushings are these? I noticed this evening when I let out the clutch I hear a slight creaking in the rear end (bushings)? Are these going to fix that issue?Never have my windows down much, but with the GM bushings, I did notice some creaking after nearly a year of having them. Have not noticed it (yet) with the Specter Werks. However, note that I lavished them with silicone spray when I installed them (Oct '06) as suggested in the instructions. joe-black 03-25-08, 03:31 AM Never have my windows down much, but with the GM bushings, I did notice some creaking after nearly a year of having them. Thanks bud, thats just what I needed to hear to make a move. :) 91sonomast 03-25-08, 07:26 AM I noticed this evening when I let out the clutch I hear a slight creaking in the rear end (bushings)? Are these going to fix that issue?
yes they will as long as you cover them good like rand49er said.
i have messed with a few CTS-V's with this issue, is the creak coming from the right side? Finding that creak for the first time was a PAIN in the ass but now its no problem. Seems like you have a idea, its a lack of lubrication on the bushings against the body and subframe. Lube them up good, and tighten them down TIGHT to torque spec, shuts them right up. I have run the GM bushing, The BMR set up, and now the Specter Werkes Bushings. The GM don't work, the BMR transfers a lot of noise to the interior, the Specter Werkes seems to work the best. Lube them good where they meet the body and you will have the best set-up of the three. rangerrob 03-25-08, 10:14 AM I have run the GM bushing, The BMR set up, and now the Specter Werkes Bushings. How difficult is the install? Tools/Time wise? I'm highly interested in a set! rand49er 03-25-08, 10:41 AM How difficult is the install? Tools/Time wise? I'm highly interested in a set!Couple of jack stands, a couple of floor jacks maybe with some short 2x4 wood pcs, the correct sockets (make sure they're good quality, not that cheap crap), a spray can full of silicone, and a long-ass rachet (I mean like 6-8ft !!!). Takes a couple of hours or so. (As usual, if you ever do it a second time, at most maybe 1 hour. :D) BMR install took about 2 hrs. Specter Werkes took about 1 hr. Learning after the first time PRICELESS!!! Loosen all four, put a 2x4 under frame at diff, drop the undercarraige just enough to get the bushings in, jack it back up and bolt fast. rangerrob 03-25-08, 01:17 PM kgoch, would you recommend getting bmr awhk, pinion support, or all bmr components( including trail arms etc. ) to support the specter werkes cradle bushings? The only thing I still use of the BMR kit is the cross member for the front of the trailing arms. I had a Pinion Support, but it transfered way to much noise. It does work if you can put up with the noise. If I were you I would only install the Specter Werkes Bushings.
