I was hoping anyone that tows with their SRX can share their experience with it as a tow vehicle. What do you tow with it? How is it in the hills? I have an 07 V8 6Speed I'll be towing with soon and am looking for what to expect.
Thanks,
Eric

I tow a 3000lb 23' boat and it works great for me. I did put on a weight distribution and anti sway hitch. I towed the same configuration with a Tahoe and the SRX as described was better. I have the V8. Good luck.

The V8 AWD setup is really great with it.

I just towed a 5' x 8' utility trailer with approximately an 800lb load (harley softail, spare tire, and some luggage) for a total of approx 2000lbs, as well as loading the SRX to the gills (including a Thule roof carrier) from ATL to south of Jacksonville, FL and back - approx. 800 miles
I have an 05 V8 with rear wheel drive and limited slip in the rear, an aftermarket class III hitch, no towing package (I don't have the factory equipped extra fan and transmission cooler), standard shocks (no MRC), and 20" wheels.
The SRX handled great, and had plenty of power, although my average mileage was around 12mpg for the trip. This is mainly due to a maintained speed of 75-80 mph throughout the trip. Slower would have increased the mpg. I didn't have any problems maintaining speed or braking on grades, although there aren't many steep ones on the route from GA to FL.
In my opinion the SRX is a very good tow vehicle, but I wouldn't tow more than 3000 lbs with it, as it does not have a heavy duty truck frame.

I have not towed yet but I would not worry about the frame, if your tounge load is correct it will not matter how heavy the load is.
My only worry is brakes, if it is heavy make sure it has brakes. I would not tow a huge load as the SRX is just not heavy enough.
