This morning my "service engine soon" light came on and the "service transmission" message also came on....as it likes to do every week or so. I decided to check the codes..just to make sure it was the TCC code and not something else. It was...except it also showed this IP2710 in my history.

Searching the forum, it would seem that this has something to do with a key? Maybe? I have two sets of keys..one with a working remote and one without. Apparently, until recently, I was storing the set with the working remote in a snowbank about 3 feet away from my car. My son discovered them the other day and I was overjoyed to have working remote again (still worked even after being buried under about 4 feet of snow)

My questions are...could the cold-storage have effected the key..causing that code to pop up? Also, since its "history" do I even need to worry about it?..and thirdly..do you think storing keys in a snowbank next to your car is a good..or bad idea???

History codes are just that, history. They indicate something was up, but now all is well. As far as the cold storage issue, you never know. Problem you had was mas more like not remembering where you stored them... K_C

Yes..silly me. It just seemed so convenient to leave them in that snowbank

I doubt that the "cold storage" had anything to do with it. B2710 - PASSKey Open/Shorted Pellet. Clear it and if it returns, put the key back in permanent "storage" and get another one.
