what is the difference between these grills?? they all look about the same but are all different prices. i've dealt with grillcraft on other cars and i was always happy with them, so why are they the cheapest, by A LOT?? (not that i'm complaining about it being cheaper :) )

with E&G, you're paying a premium for the name IMO. I'd spring for that beautiful Grill Craft Grille except what's with that "requires cutting for installation"?

THE E&G GILL COMES WITH A NEW UPPER CHROME PIECE ABOVE THE GRILL. IT IS A LOT BIGGER AND LOOKS WAY BETTER. LOOK AT THE TWO CLOSELY AND U CAN SEE. THE BIGGER CHROME PIECE REALLY MAKES YOUR GILL STAND OUT. GO WITH THE E&G!

i don't know....wondered that myself. do they mean cutting of the grill or cutting of the truck??

but if you read the e&g classic, it says 'no cutting to your factory grill' doesn't say anything about cutting the grill they send you or your truck.

E&G, the grille does not require cutting on anything. It will direct mount with existing mounting setup. They are the only ones we use on Escalades.

The E&G grille mounts to existing holes in the body. It is not installed over the factory grille, the factory one is removed, and that one goes in using the same mounting fasteners.

Don't let a little cutting turn you off!! I know plenty of people who have done it and the results are great. Man, thats an awesome grill!! Go for it!

you saying the grill craft is an awesome grill?? i think that's the one i'm going to go for. my birthday is in 2 weeks and it'll be hard enough to get someone to spend that much, no one in my family would spend 800 for my truck. plus i had a grill craft grill for my eclipse and was really impressed. it was the best you could buy for that.

So the E&G grill includes the painted surround, most of the grills you have to grind down the tabs and remove the stock grill and attach the new grill to the painted surround.

If you do purchase the less expensive one. That one does require more work, on mine I took it it off 2. Because i was not happy with the finish. Just remeber when you cut the grill after you need to sand the edges use a block of wood thats 5 inch and place the wood between the sand paper. So when you are sanding you get a nice even finish. Also I masked the chrome part and painted the inside edge with flat black paint cleans up the cut part.

I have had the grill out several times, you have to remove the grill to remove the headlights, that painted surround and grill are one part, the grill is held in with rivets and glue it seems, I know that with some grills you have to grind off the holding tabs and then drill for mounting the new grill in the stock surround

the only thing about the e&g is it might be too much chrome on the front. i still want to keep things clean.

The EG grill is flimsy, and it has no way to hold the upper plastic that seals the front of the radiator, also it sticks out about 1/2" from the color trim.

That was the main reason I installed a Grillcraft on mine.

how much work was the grill craft to install?? i'm not worried about a little cutting if the end product will be good. i just don't want to get something and after i install it realize it's not as good, quality wise, as the stock stuff.
