I've seen some dark taillights in Europe or somewhere and how can I get them for my 04?

Can't be swapped. It has been discussed before. The wiring is too different to screw with. Just get a couple cans of VHT niteshades and do it yourself. This is coincidentally what I am doing next weekend too. I've done three other cars this way and loved the results. And if you do, don't use a acrylic clearcoat. It will pull the enamel based stuff up.

It is pretty straightforward on the directions on the can. Just look it up on ebay. You need to remove the light from the car for the easiest application. REALLY light coats allowed to dry in between until your desired darkness is achieved. The light has NO problem shin:bouncy:ing right through.

I've blackend out the backup lights on my black SRX with such a spray. Looks much better on a black car.

Good to know, thanks. The only downside is the removal procedure of lic plate bezel. A few days ago, a lic plate lamp quit, so I have to do this again, well replacing both bulbs. What should I say, I paid for a Cadillac and got lic plate bulbs identical to a - let's say - Yugo or so.

haha yea, i hate removing to lic plate bezel. its really annoying but really satisfying when you replace all the bulbs. i switched my lic plate bulbs and my reverse bulbs to led. shines like a baby :)

Yep switch to led and forget about replacing bulbs for good!
