can the stock cd changer be used with an aftermarket headunit??

Hey T-dogg,

How much money do you want to spend? I would say yes it can but the plug may have to be custom made and the time required may be cost too much. I have seen much harder things accomplished. If you go to a reputable dealer-e.g. Car Toys they can do anything for a price. I used to install and one time the lead installer spent five days (40hrs) adapting an aftermarket head unit to a 500 SL mercedes so the factory steering wheel controls and console fader would work. It was crazy complicated and required dis-assembly of the new head unit and some detailed soldering but it worked. That kind of install is far more impressive than these teenagers "throwing" monitors and crap in thier cars. Check it out:

thanks man. do you know of any other way that would be easier and still have a cd changer in the dash?? my sister has one in her center console and my dad has a cts w/ one in the dash, and the in-dash one is so much easier and more convenient.
