My 1998 cadillac Eldorado is over heating after I had replaced a leaking water pump. It never had this problem with over heating before. Also there is no heat until I raise and drop my rpm to about 3000rmp 4 or 5 times. After that there is heat and the temp will drop down. I replaced the thermostat still has the same problem. Upper hose doesnt feel like it has coolant in it. I took the hose off and fill the pump and hose. Ran it for a bit still empty. Air purge line is clear. Anything would help thanks guys.

Got to be air in the system. I haven't had any trouble with this car, but in the past, I have parked my car "up-hill" to help get rid of the air after re-filling it with coolant.

Yup, gotta be air in it. Since the purge line is clear, run the RPM up to 3-4K a few times to purge the air. Make sure that the surge tank is 1/2 full.
