Is adaptive cruise control an option for the '08 CTS? I was checking out a 4-piece custom mesh grill on eBay and the ad said in bold print:
** NOTE: This grille will not work on CTS models with "Adaptive Cruise Control" option It will block the front mounted sensor **
I hadn't realized that adaptive cruise control was a part of any of the option packages. Is it?

No. It's on the XLR I think.

Shoot. I was hoping that I'd uncovered an "Easter Egg". In any event, I guess the eBay seller just laid an egg.

No ACC won't be available on CTS until MY 2011 or so.

The few people I know that have it, hate it.
My father in law has it on his XLR, and I think it's incredible. It basically let's you go as fast as possible, up to your set speed, in any traffic conditions.
I think it's a killer feature, esp. on road trips.
How does that work with bump drafting? Seriously, at different speeds does it keep you at different distances from the car in front of you? Something like fourteen seconds at 70 MPH and eight seconds at forty MPH? I have never been in a car with that feature, and I was just wondering.

Haven't done much research into this, but I always wondered what would happen in the event of a failure? Wouldn't someone get too comfortable with this feature? Also, is it not an option on the STS this year?

I think I'll pass on Adaptive Cruise Control. PLEASE make it a stand alone option and don't package it with something like nav!!!

HUD and ACC are packaged together on the STS.

Please keep this off my cars. Just another step towards vehicles that drive themselves - no thanks!

You control the distance with a button on the steering wheel. On the XLR, it even shows you, the car ahead and the set distance on the HUD.
Like I said before, it is a GREAT feature.
