Long story short I was looking for an STS with blue chip and grey interior. I settled for the cashmire interior because I found an 05 fully loaded with 34,000 miles at $26K. The car is spotless.

Would you not know that the dealer has an 08 now with the blue/grey 1,000 miles for $34,000?!?!

I'm thinking about trading off after 45 days if he can give me my $26K on the 05.

My question is does it make sense to spend $8K for an 08? I drive this car only about 8K a year. The 05 was $61K sticker and the 08 does not have all the options the 05 has.

The 05 is a V8 whereas the 08 is the 6.

Thoughts? Are there significant improvements in 3 years? The 05 being the first year out concerned me a little but never felt this a factor since it had the northstar.

yeah, no way you'll get $26K, might do a little better than $20K, but not much, keep the car you've got, drive it as much as possible and enjoy it

Just take a look at how much the '08 depreciated...now its down to 34k with just 1k miles on it...a bare bones '08 lists at over 43k..so right there the car lost close to 30% of sticker (and thats only if its bare bones)..i would stay with the '05..
