Well, I was asking some questions in my other thread, and thanks for all of the help guys. My sister decided to get this 2006 SRX with almost every option exept V8. It only has 19k miles on it, and looks and drives like it is brand new. She will be getting tint for it soon, what other mods can be done to this? Are there any nice looking grills? Also where can I find a set of the OEM 20'' sports pack wheels?

Here are a few pics, and my G35 in the backround.

Nice, Looks like mine.

AWD, Sun roof ?

Have dealer replace radio. Then remember not to hang fingers on that area when using touch screen. I have a peice of clear 3M plastic for that area and see how it holds up.

No need to replace the radio. The black coating around the CD slot on the Navigational unit bezel is peeling off. The bevel (only) was replaced under warranty by my dealer.

And so we find the downside to the "soft touch" coatings...

WRT wheels, I used to see an SRX on aftermarket five-spoke alloys, a clean, classic design. Probably 20s, maybe 21s. It looked great with this wheel. Better IMO than the OEM 20s. But then I tend to prefer single-spoke to twin-spoke designs.

nice car!
06 was the first year for cashmere interior. But your rims were only available in 04 & 05. :hmm:

here's what was available in 06

That looks like the same problem I've had with a BMW X5. That material was all over the door panels/handles and almost every inch of it peeled off in a few years. Looked like hell.

I just got an 04 and I love it (same color as ur sis').

Below is the grill that came with my SRX. It's the V-Series mesh grill. I also had the front window tinted so it can match the back and it look awesome. I ordered the Volant intake system from EBay but I haven't it received yet. I should be posting more pics soon.

I will be looking out to the reply's of your for the 20" wheel options (I would love that).

HMMM, now you have me thinking, I asked the dealer to replace the tires before we picked it up mabe they put on a set of older wheels. I can't remember if it had the newer style wheels on it when I looked at it the night she signed the papers. :hmm:

Well these will only be the winter wheels if I can get a set of the OEM 20's, but still, mabe they changed them not thinking they were the same wheels.

Your car looks great!

I like the way that grill looks, mabe I will have her order one of those. What percent did you have the windows tinted to match I can't decide if she should get 15% or 35%. Also please write a review when you get your volant intake.

Okay, I looked at the pics on the dealers website, and these wheels were on it when it was there. Mabe the previous owner had them changed, or mabe it was a very early production 06 with the 05 wheels.

They told me it was the entire radio. Gotta love B2B

I used a 15% ...which looks hot! But every time I drive by a cop I worry he might stop me (sucks!).
I also added a set (3) of V-Series Emblems for looks (to match the grill). I got them from EBay as well.

Other than the Volant, tint, and emblems ... I don't plan to do anything besides maintenance. Oh, I am purchasing a new set of 255/55R18 tires for all around. I am not too crazy about this but until I find 20" OEM's, I will keep the factory 18's.

I will write a review on the Volant and post pics as soon as I put install it.

Thanks, I want to see how you like the Volant intake, I debadged most of the car yesterday, I like the cleaner look.

I can't decide if she should get 15% or 35%, I have 15% on my G35, and it can be hard to see on some dark roads.

Do you have any pics of the 15% on your car?

I used 15% and it looks hot! The rear windows had darker tints installed by the previous owners. The only draw back is wondering whether you going to get pulled over or not (sucks!)

To match my grill...I also added a set of 3 V-Series emblems. I picked them up on EBay (it does give it a sporty touch).

Other than the tints, Volant intake, and emblems...I don't plan to do anything else. I ordered a set of 4 255/55R18 tires for the stock rims but until I don't find OEM 20's, I don't plan to upgrade the rims.

Will post pics and intake review soon.

Sorry for the double post, I didn't think the first was posted. I will take picks this weekend (work keeps me busy until late on weekdays).

I received the Volant yesterday so I'll be up and early on Saturday installing it.

The GM emblems look horrible on the flat side mouldingless panels of the SRX. I ripped mine off my 06 the day I picked mine up. They don't bother me so much on my Lade as there is other chrome trim, mouldings, and emblems on the sides and also some body countour. So, I left them on. But, I would rip it all off (side mouldings/GM emblem/etc) if it were not a lease. Not only looks better IMO, but makes washing and drying a lot easier.

I like the debadged look also, I was going to also take the cadillac crest off the back of her SRX, but I think it would look too plain. I also debadged the trunk of my G35 and just left the Infiniti emblem.

Yeah, I say leave the Caddy emblems for sure. I actually like those. One on the front, one on the back - that's all there should be IMO.

BTW, real nice Infiniti.

Yea, I'm defn going to leave the caddy emblems, they are the only ones that look good, I will post up some pics of the debadged SRX when it stops raining here.

Also thanks, I just had the G35 turbocharged.

klei,

I installed the Volant and I must admit that it has better thrust (pickup power) and the "roar" (engine noise) you hear more when you step on the gas (on hi throttle). I have not noticed any difference on the gas yet but I'm looking out for that. I will post my feedback.

I added the V-series emblems to match the grill but I am having second thoughts. Not sure what the out come might be yet.

Very VERY nice. I love the grill/tint/wood package/etc. Great persoanlization and all very classy.

Personally, I would not leave the V emblems on. Those who don't know, don't care. Those who do know, will think you are trying to be a faker. I know that is not your intention, but when I see, say a V-6 Firebird with Trans Am badging, or a V-6 Stang with GT badging, I just laugh and wonder who they think they are kidding. Again, the "V" is a cool logo and I truly believe you did not put them on to try an trick anybody, but it will get mis-interpreted. Just my 2 cents. Regardless, very nice ride!
