I want to hard wire my radar detector into the hot wire of the sunvisor. In my '04 I just removed the 3 screws and the whole visor just came down, exposing the wire I needed. In the '08, first there's a cap. Just pop that off. Second, they used star head screws so you don't go any further. But I have star head bits I got at the dollar store. Removed the 3 screws (btw, did everyone notice the visor slides out on the post it is mounted on?). It won't drop down. I can see that there are various other snaps that need to be pushed, but I can't get it to drop down. Can you help?:bows:

I purchased an extra set of visors because in my attempt to remove the air bag warning stickers I don't like the unsightly dried adhesive left behind. You are correct, there are several clips that hold the visor in place. You need to put a pair of needle nose pliers in the long slot and squeeze two tabs together to release one clip. On each side is a white plastic clip that needs to be pushed over towards the center. I tried to photograph the front and back of the mountings. I can take more photos if needed.

I hope the rest of the car is as overengineered as that is................

My thoughts exactly. The only sense I could make out of the need for clips is that the visors get snaped into place at one station along the line, and the screws get tightened up further down the assembly line?

Calcustom,
Wow, thanks alot. Looking at that wire bundle, I'm nixing that project. I don't want to cut into that. Time to figure out a whole new approach for the hard wire project.
