I'm about to install a Katech shifter.

Has anybody tried putting on a C6 Z06 knob. or any other aftermarket knob besides the UUC knobs? PFYC.com has a Derlin shifter that I really liked in my Vette. Since this Katech shifter is threaded I'm thinking it will work.

Am I wrong?

I have everything UUC. Installed the knob a week after the shifter, and the extra weight on the knob made a big drfference. So get something heavy.

:yeah:

Everything UUC as well and the extra weight made a much bigger diff than I expected.

I hear what your saying, but UUC prices are a bit hard for me to justify. Actually their pricing on knobs is downright ridiculous. Not to mention The "Ribbed for your shifting pleasure" looks wierd to me.

If it's threaded on top try Summit and Jegs there are hundreds of choices. If it's not threaded run a die on it and you're all set

Understood, Was just trying to tell you that the extra weight helps the shifting so whatever you get make sure it is heavier then the stock one. (Stock one is weighted).

The shifter may look a little Dildoesqe but it is a little larger than the stock shifter and fits my hand better.

Someone sure posted a large picture.

Love the bt, my phone is a little quirky (winblows mobile) and the radiosandmore kit is a little quirky too, but otherwise I'm happy with it........ as for volume I have the radio itself set to the lowest it will go, then adjust volume with the kit...seems to give the clearest audio....you've got the ON* interface too right??

LUVMY04V - That's what I'm talkin bout brother! I was thinking about a C6 shift knob but that GTO looks killer. Is that shifter boot a Redline product?

I don't mind the thread jack, as long as you give me some info on that blue tooth adaptor you two are using:thumbsup:

GTO/Monaro shift knob & boot... seems like a 'blast from the past'

Here's some old threads to bring you up to speed on the purchase & install:

http://www.jhp.com.au/enlarge-gto.php?image=img/products/interiors/short_shift/jason-smith-monaro-int-2-lrg.jpg?imagealt=

Kind of a hassle to install. The knob has a plastic sleeve that has to be reamed out
and making the boot work with the V retainer plate takes time, glue and dexterity.

Decided I didn't like the feel of the knob after a few weeks and ended up throwing it away. :banghead:

Bought mine from an Australian vendor. Was cheaper than buying from Pontiac.

check the faq, and contact reed...he may still be able to get the interface box....basically you have to disable onstar and when you make a phone call it uses the onstar channel to go over your speakers....like I said, it's a little buggy but really cool.

You are correct, On-star is gone and I am going with the Reed Interface. The only thing quirky is my phone but the interface works sweet.

Blue Tooth Interface Motorola IHF1000 (JimmyH prefers the Parrot interface)

The Box I got from Reed
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-cts-v-series-forum-2004/105273-bluetooth-interface-order-now.html

The iPod Interface is pretty cool too. I got the one from iConnect and the installation was a breeze and works well enough for me.

You may hear some neg's on that one though.

If I go, I'm runnin'. I can't just sit on the sidelines. I think if I do some cool down laps I can keep the brakes from warping like last time. VIR was brutal on my car's brakes. Trying to get whoa'd down from the back and front straights certainly took it's toll. I've watched some video of Summit, seems like a fairly short track. Just how long is it? What speeds have you seen there?

If you downshift a little more often then it won't...... oh, uh, never mind.
