After 3 years with a basic 2005 STS, I moved up to a 2008 STS with the V6 Luxury package which includes DVD Navigation. My old vehicle had a nice covered slot in the dash below the radio for a note pad, sunglasses, etc. The new vehicle has the nav screen in it's place.

So I have no place for my sunglasses now, until I realized that I can tilt the nav screen a bit which makes a nice little shelf for my sunglasses.http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

So I get back to office, leave the sunglasses on the little shelf below the nav screen. When I return to vehicle a couple hours later, the sunglasses are now on the console near the ashtray. I figured that maybe I didn't set them down correctly. No big deal I thought.http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif

Last night I made sure that the glasses were securely setting on the shelf, but this morning they weren't on the shelf again and fell down! It's weird because the nav screen has not moved at all.

I think this Caddy may be named Christine!http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon11.gif

I have observed the nav screen cycle through its positions after I turn off the car and sometimes when starting. WHY? Donno... :nono:

I think the problem is that when you leave the car and it locks, the nav screen moves back to it's origional position thus throwing off your sunglasses. When you come back to the car and unlock/open it, the nav screen reverts back to the tilted setting without you noticing it as part of the memory.

You should turn of the vehicle and have some one else take off with the keys...you can sit there and watch the Nav screen and see if it moves. If not you gots a ghost!

it goes back to the original position and when the door unlocks with your fob it goes to the position you left it, your car is not haunted. you can try by using the other fob to open the door you will see it is going to be all the way out.
