01 SLS that when I turn the wheel usually when the car is very cold makes the rubbing like the tire is hitting the fender noise. The tire is not rubbing, I have 74K miles and at about 68K miles I had to replace a leaking power steering line. The fluid is full, what could be the trouble? The rubbing noise is not constant. I also get the stability service light but that seems to always be when I have the wheel at 3 quarters turn and there are no problem codes. I also get the noise of air in the power steering fluid but it has been to cold to get it up and try to air it out. Any of these other concerns causing the rubbing noise? Thanks
To get the air out of the system, you can either lift the front tires and turn the wheels lock to lock, back and forth about 4-5 times with a short 2-3 second pause at each stop. Or find a dirt road to do it on w/o the tires lifted to save on the tread wear. The pause puts the pump at full pressure.

If it's like my '99 Eldo that noise, which can also be felt at the sreering wheel, is reportedly a bushing located somewhere on the lower left front. I'd seen the posts on here for the same problem. Although it does bother me, and is persistent in cold weather, I am not too concerned about it. No codes are coming up on it and it is only momentary. When I feel a difference in how the car handles and steers as well as posting some code I'm inclined to let it be and quietly curse the engineer responsible.
