Yeah, my AC worked last summer. I got it converted and even got a new compressor. But this year when I have it charged it does not even get cold at all. I was even told that my compressor may not be turning even the belt moves fine when the car is running. Can anyone help me out?

If this is case, I would say the clutch is bad..... Very possible.....

How would I go about checking the clutch myself and how difficult would it be for me to change it myself.

You need to find out if the compressor is turning or is not turning before you can diagnose any further. With the engine off look at the front of the compressor to familiarize yourself with it. Then start the car, turn on the a/c and look at the front of the compressor again. The "face plate" of the compressor should be spinning. If it is not moving then the compressor is not running.

We need to know this before going any further.

I have the same problem, I checked the compressor, and it turns, and then stops, and then turns, and then stops. I have a feeling it's about to crap out on me. Are these easy/cheap to replace? While I'm at it I'll probably change the belt too.

Fleetwood Blaq, you could also have a leak somewhere in the a/c system which is the reason why your compressor is not spinning (there is no freon and oil in the system). I would have a good shop diagnose your a/c system to see if anything is up with it and go from there.

That's what it's supposed to do. It should never run non-stop.

The a/c compressor is supposed to cycle, thats why it turns on and off. If you don't have enough freon in the system, or too much freon the compressor will cycle more often. people tend to over fill there a/c systems this would cause a poor colling condition.

I'll check the freon. It literally starts and stops every second.

If it cycling that quickly you will find it is low on refrigerant. If this is the first time it has gotten low I would just add some more to get the pressures where they ought to be again.
