For the hitch experts...

Would a 2006-2007 GM Hitch Receiver Package (part number 12498654) fit a 2004? Are the fitting holes the same or do they vary?

I have a 2004 SRX V6 AWD.

Thanks for your input.
John

I'm no expert, so don't hold me to it. The hitch mounts to floor pan bolts. I don't know
of any reason why that would change through the life of the SRX.

Go to the "experts" where I got mine: http://www.etrailer.com/
Bought and installed myself a Class III Drawtite instead of the wimpy Cadillac Class II

I put what they call the "Hidden Hitch" on mine. I don't know why thay call it that because it certainly isn't the least bit hidden!

LOL Ray, it is tempting!

I'm actually considering John D's advice. The Class III Drawtite on etrailer.com does look like it will do the job and I can specifically order it for my 04 SRX.

Thanks you all (John!). John, do you have a pic of the hitch on ur SUV?

I also put a Hidden Hitch on my 2004. While not hidden like the factory one, i liked the tubular steel vs the box of the drawtite. Then the gm splitter for the lights took about 1 minute to install and cost around $40. I think I got mine from gmpartsdirect.com, but i remember they weren't a lot cheaper than the dealer after shipping. The factory hitch has predrilled holes on it to mount the plug for the lights to, the hidden hitch (i don't know about the drawtite) does not. I didn't have a solution, but i just threw the loose end up inside the rear bumper and it has never fallen out.
