: Well that's a great way to start the work week!

I think I mentioned on here last week that my uncle had dropped off his '01 Alero with the 2.4L I-4 at my work last Tuesday for us to install a water pump on it, because his old one was leaking pretty bad, and the bearing in it was shot. Anywhom, so we get to the water pump, find that the timing chain is split in half, which broke the chain guides and timing chain sprocket.

At my cost, with the employee discounts, his total was $1122 for all this work. Without the employee discounts, it would probably be in the $1500 range.

Anywhom, I got a call from my uncle this morning, thanking me again and informing me that he ordered a bunch of pizzas from Dominoes and will have them delivered to my work at 11:30 this morning as a thank you for a job well done.

Kickass! Nobody's ever done this before, atleast not while I've been here.
So everyone in the shop had a slice or three and what a great start to the work week!

What a nice change from the usual! Most folks would have cussed you out for "finding something else wrong", like you put it there just because. Hope the good karma streak continues.

Nice! A job well done deserves its rewards.

Way to go "Uncle .......!" Good service deserves a pat on the back ....... and a pat on the back gets good service for the next guy, too!

Wal*Mart does this for us once a month. They order about 20 pizzas and have more delivered every 3-4 hours all day long so they are constantly fresh.

Domino's: Pep, onion, double breakfast bacon and extra cheese is like greasy heaven on earth! Way to go! It's always nice to be appreciated!

And I'll be mailing uncle John two free oil change coupons courtesy of my boss. As a thank you for the $1100 ticket (and pizzas!)

I wanted to do something similar to that for the guy's (especially the main one in charge of my car) after my recent accident repair. They did a phenomenal job, and I knew were very rushed on time and even got shafted by the insurance, but were thrilled to do the work for me.

I never got around to doing anything...because I wasn't sure what to send, do, have delivered, etc. Food is always a good choice in these "shop" situations, though:thumbsup:

Having worked in a bank for several years, and my mother for decades, gifts after pleasant or extra help is very much common place from customers. Should be everywhere, in addition to a thank you.

Nice! A good service writer (and his team) deserve small rewards here and there.

I personally think a Dominoes, when made right, is a superior "franchise" Pizza.
