I bought an '01 DTS last year and the all 4 heated seats do not work. When the button is pushed they light up and i hear a click but no heat. Is there a relay or something that controls all of them. I thought they were seperate but if all 4 are not working I dont know. Hopefully someone out there knows what i should do to fix this. thanks, frank

With the key in RUN, engine off, (quiet) try each seat control. You'll heat a click every 5 -7 seconds if one element is not functioning in each seat. (There may be as many as 4 elements in a seat, depending on model/year, and there's no one element that always goes bad - it's a crap shoot.) Then you have to troubleshoot each seat to find the bad element. There are repair kits for each type, and the seats have to come out and be disassembled. There's a thread in here or Seville/Deville from a couple of months ago..pictures and directions. Is the back seat pad plugged in.....passenger side, under the seat.

actually as many as 6 elements could be had in a 98-99 Seville
your body 00-01 has 4 elements, one back and three on the bottom left right and center
its POSSIBLE all four burned up but VERY unlikely...
i dont believe there is a common circuit among all four
your best bet is to dig in and rip one seat out and remove the leather cover to see if you see a burn mark on the underside indicating a burnt coil

i tried to turn on the heaters and there are 2 quick clicks then nothing. i tried this with each seat and its the same thing. i cant believe that they would all burn out. there must be a common relay or something that would make them all go out. any ideas??

no common relay
they all have their own module under the seat
sounds like you have 4 fried seat elements

so what you are saying is that if one element goes out in the seat, none of them will work? i think it would be easier to get different seats instead of ripping each appart to replace the elements. could it be the relays that are bad? is there a way to check which element/relay is bad?

if one element burns out in a seat
all the elements within that seat will no longer function
find the broken burned part of the element
solder it together
and youll fix it
