Just curious, is anyone out there towing with your STS? I know it doesn’t have a large towing capacity, but there are still small trailers (toys in my case) that it could easily tow.

Any pics if you did put a draw bar on? My wife thinks I’m crazy for wanting to put a hitch on an STS. She is probably right, but as this is the car I’m usually driving, it would make life a lot easier.

Let me know, what are you towing? How does it handle? Any issues? I would love to see a pic of an STS with a hitch. How hidden/obvious is it when not in use?

I believe the towing capacity of the STS is 1000lbs.

I know, not much. But again, enough to pull the small toys at least.

Take a look at the following thread. Someone was interested in towing with a sts-v last year and this is all the info that people were able to digg up for him. Hope it helps.

Hidden Hitch makes a Class I for hte STS, http://hiddenhitch.com/fitguides/details.asp?ProdID=60830
read the instructions to see what's involved, you'll need to drill the trunk. looks like it would be well tucked behind the bumper so it should be virtually invisible.

So it looks like unless there is anybody out there that is towing and would like to offer another opinion, the option is very limited, and not appealing. Low tow weight on a car that doesn't seem like it will handle it well. Oh well, it's still nice to drive.

I was thinking of buying a cheap old used truck to do towing (considering buying a jetski). I think the cost of a cheap truck would be cheaper than the potential damage I could see a hitch doing to this car. Even though it says capable of 1000lb I am uneasy about the mounting points and how it could affect my AWD transmission. Would be nice though to have some sort of removable hitch though if I wasn't worried of it causing damage

I would love to see what one of these looks like with a hitch on it...photoshop anyone.
