I took our 2007 DTS Performance to the dealer for a couple of minor recalls. One was for the radio and one was for the RKE system.
On our way home the Service Stabilitrack light came on. My wife called OnStar to see what was up and they said no problem, drive carefully and have the car checked within 7 days.
I brought the car back in 6 days. This was the first use since the drive back from the dealer because my wife is afraid to drive the car. Dealer checked the car and said no problem was found and there were no codes stored. They said the light comes on and stays on any time the stabilitrack system does it's thing. Seemed like a strange answer since my old Buick never did that. He told me the light resets at the next start. Seemed logical but I was concerned about no codes stored. He said no codes since no problems, only a notification. I said seems stupid but left since I had to get to work.
Last night after starting the car and driving a few hundred feet across a parking lot the service stabilitrak light comes on again. The only thing in common with the last occurance was it was cold out and night. We never got to a speed or condition that stabilitrack should have done anything.
It is going back to the dealer first thing in the morning. I will be having a discusuion with the service writer and manager who can explain their comments last time since they conflict with the owners manual.
Since the system gives out a service warning shouldn't there be a code stored? On other cars if a warning light comes on there is a code stored, or the computer is determined to be bad for not storing a code.
This is a real pain as the dealer is a 90 mile round trip so I hope they can get it right this time.
Any suggestions as to a clue or fix?
Thanks,
Lou
