I have a 2000 Seville STS w/bose system and i'm looking to upgrade to the AVIC D3 system from pioneer. I have read through the other posts for the DTS etc but i wasn't sure how much of that pertained to my car. As it stands now, i do not have factory navigation, or Onstar and i'm hoping that makes the procedure a little easier.
I have read from other posts that the gmos-06 would probably be used (correct me if i'm wrong) but i was wondering if there are other wiring issues or difficulties that i am going to run into? Any other Will i be able to hook it up so that the steering controls still work? Can the CD changer be connected???

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

from what I understand there is a newer version of the gmos-06 that has the output for navigation. I have also read that if you want to hook up the cd changer, you cant. I have a 98 seville STS and just bought a kenwood screen with navigation attachment and sirius hookup for it too. Its all sitting in boxes in my room because the more i read, the more I must buy to hook it up. Apparently, most places that sell the gmos-06 have the newer version, but have the older version picture with the description. I'm struggling like you. I need this gmos-06, i guess, and dont know where to get it or if it is REALLY going to work and let me keep my bose system. If anyone knows where to find these things, please let me know.

Would those instructions / problems occur in the Seville as well? I have the Seville as opposed to the Deville and i don't have factory navigation or Onstar.

i didnt want to deal with the issues of my deck cutting out, so I bypassed the factory amp and got new door speakers. It costs more and honestly, without a sub now, the bose sounded better. I left the amp khooked up so my door locks would work, but I lost factory chime. Whatever, you have to be pretty dumb to not realize your door is open. Anyway, I get power to my unit ALL the time and am happy.

its not about being dumn to realize your doors open, its when it looks like its shut and when you make a turn and the door opens and hits something and all sorts of stuff starts flyin out, such as passengers

hahahahah very true NAFTA.
the shuting down and missed chimes, here and there, do bother me because i want the car to be as stock as possible with the aftermarket hu.
im used to it though.
