: Biggest Wheel size...

I was wondering if anyone knows what the biggest size rim you can go with on the Escalade when its lowered with a 2/3 drop. I currently have 22's and like the look but have been considering grabbing another set for this upcoming summer but was thinking of maybe going bigger.. My only hesitation is that i do not want to be rubbing al the time while driving.. As is right now with the 22's and 2/3 drop I only rub when the wheel is turned all the way to one side.. Just wanted to see what I could go with safely.. Thanks

I am pretty sure DLE has 24's on his ride and it is lowered. It all depends on the tire size too, not just the rim. I used to have 305/45/22 on my Denali that rubbed when the wheel was turned all the way to either side, when I bought my Escalade I put on 305/40/22 and they do not rub at all. I know other guys on this forum will be able to tell you exactly what they have on their rides.

JD is right. I have 24s with 305/35/24s on BOTH my trucks. It only rubs at FULL turn, because I trimmed the black plastic underneath the wheelwell, where the tire rubs on. Both trucks are lowered 2"/3". It comes close to the water reservoir tank, but it doesnt hit it, so we're good! :thumbsup:

Put the 24s on, turn your wheel all the way to one side, see where it rubs and cut that part of the plastic out.

Going from 22s to 24s is not a change if you think about it.

22s = smaller rims than 24s, but with "thicker" tires.
24s = bigger rims than 22s, but with "thinner" tires.

You see what i'm saying? It comes out to be the same!

I got 315/35/24 tires on my dad's escalade and they don't rub at all, not even when fully turned (stock height).
Prior to the 24's i had 305/40/23's on it and the front driver side rubbed when turned and in reverse, just trimmed a tiny piece of plastic off and it was good.

My escalade is on 26's the rub on the sides is gonna happen with any 10" wide wheel, with the 26's i had to remove the washer fluid tank however i'm at stock height and from ground to the top of the rubber i'm measuring 33.5 inches so with the drop it would probably depend on how meaty the tires are

I have the Mcgaughtys 2/3 kit;
On 22's 305/40 no rubbing.
On 24's 305/35 but 07 offset, just a bit up front, zip tie the inner well on the fronts and shaved a little in the back(because of the wrong offset), and had no more problems.
On 26's in a few weeks...I'll let u know!!

Haha, you guys did the exact same thing I had done!

When I first put some 24's on my EXT, they rubbed a bit too much for my liking, so I took it to a mechanic friend of mine who took a razor and sliced a few bits off of the black wheel well, zip tied some other parts of the wheel well, and voila! You can't see the "plastic" surgery (unless your just some hater LOOKING for a defect), and no more rubbing!

Alas, sold the 24's, gonna get some 27's I'll show ya'll later when I get them!

Am i the only one that thinks 27's look goofy? I'de much rather roll on some real 26's.
