Hey everyone, have a quick question about the egr vacuum lines. On the egr valve solenoid that sits behind the egr valve itself, one line is hooked to the valve and the other line is blocked off with a bolt. Its been done like that since the intake gasket was changed 3 years ago. Does anyone know where this line hook up to. The computer showed a e48 code. Cleared the code and it hasnt came back yet. BTW its on a 87 deville with the 4.1

EGR solenoid has actually three ports. One is hooked to the throttle body, the other to the EGR valve, and the third is not hooked to anything (it's a vent).

With the vent plugged, I believe the EGR will not open/close. I'd unplug it. I'm guessing the EGR was sticking and instead of replacing it, the shop just plugged off the line.
