I have the complete fel-pro gasket set for my 472. Are the seals that come in this kit any good? Any tips on replacing them with the heads on the engine?

Which seals did you get? The Viton umbrella seals or those hard plastic jobs the engine originally came with? If it's the Viton (they look like soft rubber little cups) they're pretty good but those plastic ones are garbage. They wear out quick and sometimes break off pieces of plastic which then float around in your oil and ruin other parts if they come in contact with them while the engine's running. There's also a positive seal available, which means it doesn't travel up and down with the valve stem like the umbrella seal does.those have to be used when running hi-po valve springs that have the inner and outer spring.Machining of the guide may be necessary to run those,I'm not sure.
