One clay bar later. http://adepssimius.is-a-geek.com:81/rob/Blazer%20RF%20corner%20shot.jpg Stoneage_Caddy 05-19-04, 11:36 PM told you the clay bars rule ! pain in the arse to wash her twice but well worth the effort eh ? Smokey 05-20-04, 12:06 AM Looks like you did a nice job it it. Well worth the effort as you have a nice looking ride there. RBraczyk 05-20-04, 12:08 AM Thanks. Could never tell it was 276K. First clay bar the truck ever saw RBraczyk 05-20-04, 12:09 AM Look at the plate. Ralph 05-20-04, 01:32 AM What's a clay bar? can't read the plate, white blank. RBraczyk 05-20-04, 09:16 AM Thats the point... A clay bar used with a spray removes all the contaminants from the surface. It probably would be good if you used one ralph. CADDYBLACK99 05-20-04, 09:32 AM Nice job! I am a believer that clay bar is the begining for a long lasting wax job. Looks good (276k?). RBraczyk 05-20-04, 06:27 PM 276000 miles. Still runs. Got a lifter problem i believe. Something makes it crap out at low idle. Ralph 05-20-04, 07:23 PM Thats the point... A clay bar used with a spray removes all the contaminants from the surface. It probably would be good if you used one ralph. What contaminants?! It rarely sees sun, and has been in a garage or parkade all its life. Always has 2 or 3 coats of wax on it. :p As long as it doesn't remove too much clear coat, or oxidation, but I don't think I need it. Stoneage_Caddy 05-20-04, 07:39 PM "What contaminants?! " the car ever seen rain or roads or parked in the sun at work ? good chance it has them , youll be surpised how smooth the finish is when your done case in point , moms 04 malibu maxx . first day we got it home i couldnt get over how smooth the paint felt to my hands , after one week it didnt feel like that anymore , even after i washed it . the car sits in the garage all day and onyl leaves the garage to run errands , maybe gets a total of 20 miles a week. but one freak rain storm ws enough to contaimate the paint . i always though it took years but it only takes weeks for the finish to start to deteriorate RBraczyk 05-20-04, 09:58 PM Well paint isn't what it used to be. Trust me, my finish feels like glass now. Its great. Actually there was a car show there tonight where i took those pics. | |
