Just thought I'd stop in and introduce myself. Just purchased an 05 CTS-V a couple of weeks ago. I've been looking for about a year and found a very well cared for, low mileage example finally. I was set on buying a new Cooper S until I heard a V at a stoplight a bout a year and a half ago. Ended up buying this 18,000 mile V for less than I was prepared to pay for a new Cooper S. I've kept my daily driven VW Beetle (the real one-not the New version) and glad I did. The V is no winter machine-my VW is a hundred times better int he snow and of course gets double t he gas mileage. I swore I'd never own another American car after my '00 Chevy Express proceeded to fall apart slowly but surely, but I will say this thing is a LOT of fun to drive. The bonging is maddening and I still have been unable to figure out how to set the clock but I'm looking forward to putting some miles on it this spring.

Bonging - just remember to turn off lights and take your keys with you!

Have you seen the Top Gear test of the CTS-V? I'm not alone in thinking the bonging is maddening! As Jeremy Clarkson said about it, " I KNOW the door's open. There's a gap. It's how I got out!". Definitely gotta find out how to disconnect that.:D
